OVER 4.3 MILLION DRUGS SEIZED BY LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES

  The Hawks’ South African Narcotics Enforcement Bureau together with Crime Intelligence, Flying squad Hermanus, Dog Unit Hermanus and Provincial Traffic officials promptly responded to information about two vehicles, a Mercedes and Volkswagen (VW) Transporter travelling with batches of drugs on the N2 highway from Gauteng to Cape Town. The first vehicle, a Mercedes Benz matching the description was spotted on the N2 highway in Grabouw travelling to Cape Town. A joint police team pulled the vehicle over and conducted a search that resulted in the detection of 24 packets of mandrax tablets totalling 24 000 capsules valued at approximately R840 000. These drugs were found hidden behind back seat in a false compartment. A 35-year-old suspect was arrested and the vehicle along with the drugs were seized for further investigation. 15 YEAR OLD BODY DISCOVERED IN A RENTED ROOM IN LOMANYANENG VILLAGE

Police in Lomanyaneng village near Mahikeng, in the North West, have opened an inquest docket after the body of a 15-year-old girl was found in a two-roomed house which she was allegedly renting with her boyfriend. No arrest has been made, but police say they are looking for the girl’s boyfriend. “The deceased’s body, which was in a bad state of decomposition, was found lying naked on the mattress in one of the rooms. The deceased was identified by her brother as Tshegofatso Agnes Matibako. “Tshegofatso’s boyfriend, who is the last person to be seen with her, is reportedly a Lesotho national and also a person of interest in this matter. His whereabouts and full identity are unknown at this stage,” says Sam Tselanyane, North West police spokesperson

22-YEAR-OLD MALE ARRESTED FOR POSSESSION OF UNLICENSED FIREARM AND AMMUNITIONS

The District Commissioner of Lejweleputswa, Maj Gen Lerato Molale welcomes the arrest of a man with unlicensed firearm and ammunitions. He praised residents of Meloding to trust the Police with this sensitive information. Members were also applauded for excellent work. On the 26 December 2021 at 09:00 members of Crime Intelligence received a tip-off about a male person with a firearm. The information was opertionalised by engaging Welkom Public Order Policing Task Team members to approach the identified male person. A male person at Meloding was approached and a request was made to search his residence. While members were busy, a firearm with serial numbers and five live ammunitions, holster, magazine, and sport bag were found. RAPIST ARRESTED NAPPING AFTER RAPING 62 YEARS OLD GRANNY

FREE STATE - The elderly woman was asleep in her home when her house was broken into and raped. The suspect was arrested asleep.  On the 25 December 2021 at about 22:15 the complainant who is a 62-year-old woman was asleep in her bedroom when she was awoken by a knock on her door.  The next moment she was awoken by a male voice that instructed her to undress, she was assaulted, strangled and raped. After the rape ordeal the youngster fell asleep. The victim managed to escape through the open window to seek help from her neighbours. Odendaalsrus SAPS members were informed about the incident and responded instantly and found the suspect still asleep. A 35-year-old man was awoken by the police who arrested him for house breaking with the intention to rape and rape The suspect will appear on the 28 December 2021 in Odendaalsrus Magistrate Court.

MAN ARRESTED FOR GIRLFRIEND MURDER

FREE STATE - The 35-year-old man from Sehlajaneng Village in Qwaqwa spent his first Christmas Day in early hours of the morning behind bars after he reported to the police that he unfortunately hit his girlfriend on the head with a cement brick and collapsed.  It is alleged that on 25 December 2021 at about 01:30 the police received a call from suspect at Sehlajaneng Village that he fought with his girlfriend and allegedly stroked her with cement brick on the head and collapsed.  The police responded to the caller's allegations and met him at Monontsha shopping complex and took them to the scene of crime. Indeed the report was positive as they found the body lying in the bedroom on the bed covered with a blanket. The woman was declared dead by Emergency Medical Service paramedics who attended the scene. She had injuries on the bruised head and right shoulder arm was also broken. BLOODY CHRISTMAS AS MAN KILLS FAMILY MEMBERS IN LIMPOPO PROVINCE

Police alleged that a man killed his two brothers, four children and the pregnant wife of one the brothers shortly after midnight. "Shortly after midnight, the suspect, who is employed as a nurse, shot and killed his two brothers, a wife who was pregnant and four children, using his licensed firearm. Investigators are still collating other information, including the ages of the deceased," police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo said. Details about the shooting are sketchy but Limpopo police are combing the scene for evidence. According to  Mojapelo, it is believed the brothers lived together along with their wives and children, and that an ongoing family feud led to the incident. Its reported that the man handed himself over to the police. He faces seven counts of murder.
