KIND HEARTS DONT EXPECT ANYTHING IN RETURN

Image
Chris-Tiaan has just stolen my heart all over again. We were in Checkers getting a few things for his return to school this week. There was an older lady looking at some meaty bones (more bones than meat). She took one pack, looked at the price and returned it to the shelf. Chris-Tiaan told her to follow us to the Deli section. He took a grilled chicken, 12 bread rolls and 2L cold drink. I kept quiet and wanted to see what he plans to do. He then took 36 eggs and also gave that to her. He then opened his wallet with his pocket money and told the lady at till point that he will pay for the items. He also took 1L of his own yogurt from our trolley and gave it to her telling her that she and her family should enjoy their meal. I asked him why he did it and he said that he is fortunate to have food everyday, she deserves more than just bones.  Not only is he working hard to save our planet by planting 1000’s of spekboom but is also sharing the little pocket money he gets with o

LABOUR COURT RULES THAT MATHUNJWA’S PRESIDENCY IS INVALID.

Image
The Labour Court on Monday set aside Joseph Mathunjwa’s election as president of AMCU.At the heart of the decision was that Mathunjwa was not employed in the sector since 2013 and so was never eligible to stand as union president. The court ruling is prospective, not retroactive, so any past decisions taken by Mathunjwa in his capacity as AMCU president remain valid. The Labour Court has declared that the election of Joseph Mathunjwa as president of the Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union (AMCU) was unlawful and has set his appointment aside.  In a judgment handed down earlier this week, acting Judge Sandile Mabaso found that because Mathunjwa had not been employed in the mining and construction sectors his re-election as AMCU President in September 2019 was not valid. This goes against AMCUs own constitution which requires an office bearers to first be an AMCU member. And "the constitution clearly states that a condition of being a member [is that] you ne

The NICD said that although the data they had was limited, "our experts are working overtime with all the established surveillance systems to understand the new variant and what the potential implications could be." The institute said that positive cases were increasing quickly, particularly in Gauteng, the North West and Limpopo. The NICD's Dr Michelle Groome said that regardless of the emergence of the new variant, the importance of nonpharmaceutical interventions remains unchanged. “This means that individuals should get vaccinate

FACTORS TO CONSIDER BEFORE MARRYING SOMEONE

Image
Two days ago I posted, "Don't marry anyone just because you love the person, love is not enough reason to get married. There are other factors to consider."  The post gathered some reactions both on Facebook here and on WhatsApp, some people agreed with me that love is not enough, while others disagreed and then many others asked me about the other factors that need to be considered before you marry someone.  So what I intend to do in this article is to show you the other factors you need to consider before you agree to marry anyone. My intention for making that post two days was to help people to make sure all coasts are cleared before they venture into marriage to avoid regrets. There are many people that got married only because of love but are now regretting that decision. They were blinded by love but marriage performed a miracle on their eyes, now they can clearly see their mistakes. What are these factors you need to consider before you marry?   1. Love Because I s

N1 ROAD UPGRADES TO BE COMPLETED BY THE YEAR 2022 SAYS TRANSPORT MINISTER

Image
The Department of Transport says it is making steady progress on the construction of a new R677 million project in Limpopo which aims to reduce travel time between the popular Beit Bridge border post, and neighbouring Zimbabwe. The new ring road from Musina South to Musina North commenced in December 2019 and is set to be completed in 2022. The project’s main purpose is to divert the N1 traffic around the town of Musina, and is managed by the Raubex group. More than 1,000 heavy vehicles and trucks use the N1 passing through Musina city centre daily. Intersections and lower speed restrictions create heavy traffic congestion and damage to infrastructure in the town’s central business district. The road will ease congestion between Musina and Beit Bridge border post, a gateway to many other Sothern African Development Community countries that trade with South Africa, such as Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Zimbabwe is also upgrading the Bei
