I.E.C ALLEGES SABOTAGE

Johannesburg - The Electoral Commission CEO Sy Mamabolo has denied that there was a fire at the Results Operation Centre (ROC) in Tshwane on Saturday night. “There was a burning of a circuit breaker on the distribution box. There were no flames but the burning….in other words the oversupply of heat resulted in malfunctioning. The unit was completely destroyed necessitating a replacement,” Mamabolo said. He said the decision to evacuate the ROC came after an electricity supply problem. “We evacuated the building because there wasn't sufficient electric supply into the building so for safety purposes we took everybody out while we investigated and established the facts. HAWKS ALLEGEDLY INVESTIGATING EFF LEADER-MALEMA

The Hawks are reportedly investigating claims of fraud and corruption involving a dodgy City of Tshwane fuel tender worth around half a billion rand that is allegedly linked to the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and its leader Julius Malema. Investigative journalism news outlet amaBhungane reported on Thursday that three companies were awarded the tender in 2019, and one of them allegedly paid R15 million to companies that are connected to Malema, the EFF and the party’s secretary-general, Marshall Dlamini. The timing of the suspect payments reportedly overlapped with key moments in the tender process, and the contract was set aside by the Pretoria High Court in June last year after the court cited the “irrational” and “unfair” manner in which it was evaluated. ‌ According to amaBhungane, the Hawks have written a letter to Tshwane’s city manager requesting information on the tender awarded to Balimi Barui Trading (BBT), MDZ Holdings and Rheinland Investment CC. The owner of BBT, Hendr

GUILTY FOR MASTERMINDING 6 KILLINGS

Image
Rosemary Ndlovu's guilty verdicts into masterminding the killing of six people (boyfriend and five close relatives), attempted murder of own mother, incitement and defeating the ends of justice might be an extreme case.  But I wish to repeat myself on declaring that we know of some in our families that in their quest of keeping up with the Jones's would resort to trading on insurance monies by exploiting relatives. The insured are pushed to their last day on mother earth through devilish means; denied food, made to depend on deadly alcoholic concoctions and generally denied a good quality of life. These sharks are unfortunately the ones perceived to be "educated" or "enlightened" and target largely those within the extended family circles.  Theirs was never in ensuring the deceased is granted a dignified sendoff but to cash-in. They disguise their evil ways by camouflaging the act of profiteering in claiming it's a recovery of monthly premium

DOWNER SAYS ZUMA'S LAWYER LEAKED THE LETTER

Image
Former president Jacob Zuma has a short memory; his own lawyer also submitted a letter about his health to court and a year ago he happily told the internet how he was poisoned. Former president Jacob Zuma's latest victim card is nothing but a desperate, hollow attempt to divert attention from the impending ruling by the Pietermaritzburg High Court on advocate Billy Downer's ability to prosecute Zuma. Judge Piet Koen is scheduled to rule next Tuesday whether Downer can continue with his prosecution of Zuma, or whether he is compromised and should stand down, in which case a new prosecutor would take over the trial. Zuma's latest move will cast a pall over Koen's ruling on his special plea application next week, in which the former president will argue that the judge should block the entire National Prosecuting Authority from pursuing corruption charges against him.  Given that legal experts have dismissed that case as flimsy, Zuma's decision to lay charg

ACTING JUDGE ,TEMBEKA NGCUKAITOBI SPARKS CONTROVERSY ON EASTERN CAPE SEXUAL ASSAULT CASE

Image
Acting Judge Tembeka Ngcukaitobi’s judgment on a rape case this week has angered human rights groups, justice advocates and the public at large.  Acting Judge Tembeka Ngcukaitobi’s judgment on a rape case this week has angered human rights groups, justice advocates and the public at large.   The controversial court judgment on the issue of sexual consent could undermine South Africa’s quest to assert the human rights of women, according to a legal expert. This comes after acting Eastern Cape High Court Judge Tembeka Ngcukaitobi overturned the conviction of a former paramedic who was found guilty of raping his girlfriend because, by agreeing to oral sex, Ngcukaitobi ruled, she had tacitly agreed to penetrative sex. She was a virgin. Ngcukaitobi set aside Loyiso Coko’s seven-year sentence, saying that the findings of the Makhanda Regional Court were “erroneous”. That court had found Coko guilty of raping his girlfriend, a Rhodes University master’s student, on July 1 2018.

CONFESSION OF A WOMAN

MY HUSBAND FOUND ME IN BED WITH ANOTHER MAN Please hide my name. My husband found me in bed with another man, in our bedroom. I expected him to shoot both of us right there but he didn't. He nicely asked my side guy to get dressed and leave. I was shaking to the toe at that moment. He told me to go take a shower. I tried to apologise but he told me he didn't want to talk about it because there was nothing he can do to reverse what happened. That was the last time we spoke about it. Ever since that day he has been nice to me. He buys me flowers and take me out at least once a week. He is doing everything I want as from my man. Here is my problem. What he saw last month is eating me everyday, especially since he doesn't want to talk about it. I'm even losing weight. I expected him to chase me away, punish me or call a family meeting to report me. He's doing the opposite. I feel like he's planning to do something bad to me. Sometimes I open my eyes at night and fin

NORTHERN CAPE PATHOLOGIST EMBARK ON A GO SLOW

Image
STAFF employed at state mortuaries in the Northern Cape have embarked on a go-slow as they believe that the facilities do not meet occupational health and safety standards, where they are forced to work in “shocking” conditions. Forensic mortuary officials stated that they were unable to perform their duties as they did not have the necessary tools of the trade and were severely understaffed. “Ten out of the 20 refrigerators at the mortuary in Kimberley are not working. Therefore, a number of the bodies cannot be kept in cold storage. Some of the doors of the fridges do not close properly, so rats enter the facility in search of food and gnaw on the bodies. There have been unclaimed bodies lying in the fridges that have started to decompose. Family members have to arrange with the funeral undertakers to collect the deceased as soon as the autopsy is completed, as there is a shortage of available space,” the staff said. Workers indicated that the condition of mortuaries in the rest of t
