MAN BEHIND BARS FOR COPPER THEFT


GAUTENG - Today the Putfontein Saps members in collaboration with Transnet officials and Afriguard Security Company conducted a second hand goods operations around Putfontein policing precinct. 

The operations was all about scrapyard compliance. While conducting the operations, a search was conducted at one of the scrapyard in Mayfield cnr Lurie and Brazil, a copper cables was found stashed inside the bags.

The man responsible for the scrap could not give satisfactory answers as to how the copper landed in his business, and the copper was identified as Transnet copper cables.

The man was arrested for possession of copper cables and he will be appearing in court soon. The operations is still ongoing.
