HARDLY 24HOURS FOR NEW KIMBERLEY MAYOR- SERVICES ARE IN DEMAND
RESIDENTS of Riemvasmaak in Galeshewe barricaded all the roads connecting to the Pick n Pay circle since 4am this morning demanding that the project for the installation of electricity continues. They say the project came to a standstill three weeks ago after the workers dug holes for the poles.
The protesters are demanding that the new mayor address them after their protest action at the Kimberley City Hall on Tuesday was stopped by the police. They vowed that they will only stop once the electricity is switched on in their settlement. Meanwhile, all the stores at the centre remain closed except for Pick n Pay.
