THREE ARRESTED FOR THEFT

THE POSTMASBURG police arrested three men, between the ages of 18 and 22, on Monday after they allegedly stole items from a truck that was delivering mechanical equipment in the Postmasburg industrial area.
Postmasburg SAPS communication officer, Warrant Officer Nomvuyo Makoloi said on Tuesday that police members reacted swiftly to the complaint and arrested three suspects after they fled the scene.

“The suspects will appear in the Postmasburg Magistrate’s Court soon,” said Makoloi.

She also warned residents that it was a crime to buy and sell stolen goods. “Instead, they are urged to report and reject stolen goods.
“The police are concerned about the latest tendency where delivery trucks are being targeted and urge drivers and owners to be more alert and vigilant when making deliveries.”

The Postmasburg station commander, Colonel Andries Witbooi, commended the police members for their quick and swift response in apprehending the suspects.
